Medical Quality Project Manager



The purpose of this position is to manage quality improvement initiatives and practice transformation programs, provide input and support for value-based programs, as well as conduct research and analysis for future projects and policies.


The primary duties and responsibilities of a Medical Quality Project Manager are:

  • Project leader accountable for maximizing CityMD’s annual CMS value-based reimbursement by developing, implementing, monitoring and improving activities required for successful filing of MIPS, Meaningful Use, PQRS and all future CMS practice transformation related programs in all regions.
  • Project leader accountable for obtaining and maintaining UCAOA Accreditation status, NCQA-PCCC designation and/or other accreditation status for all sites in all regions.
  • Project leader for securing and maximizing federal TCPI grant and/or other quality improvement/practice transformation grants available for CityMD.
  • Quality Administrator to help support and monitor commercial payer/managed care organization’s current and future value based programs or population health pilots.


  • Administrator to monitor CityMD’s CAPHS, QRUR, HEDIS, Press Ganey and other related quality measures reports.
  • Maintain Monthly Clinical Quality Measures Dashboard/Data Updates and Distribution Analysis of data, trends, and variations from Quality Clinical Measures Dashboard.
  • Research and Analysis for current and other future Quality Improvement or Practice Transformation projects.
  • Research, Draft and Organize Medical Policies and other documents.
  • Work closely with Medical Operations, Informatics, Strategy and Payer Relations team.


A candidate’s qualifications will include:

  • Experience in HEDIS, STAR rating quality measures, NCQA, ICD-9/10, CMS (MIPS, MU, PQRS, CAHPS), Accreditation (ex: Joint Commission, NCQA, UCAOA, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience managing projects in the healthcare industry, preferably hospital or health insurance industry concerning Quality Improvement specifically HEDIS, NCQA, and MIPS. Must have knowledge of industry trends and medical informatics.
  • Must be able to manage 3-4 large projects simultaneously and develop detailed project plan, strategy and tracking.
  • Must complete project and meet goal objectives on time.
  • Must be a strong communicator and be able to manage difficult stakeholders.
  • Must have experience developing presentations and presenting them to senior executives.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of EHR, HIE and other technical applications that impacts/improves healthcare quality is beneficial.

  • Strong analytical skills with comprehensive knowledge of Excel and statistical software are beneficial.
  • PMP certification and Six Sigma Certification is beneficial.
