Graphic Artist



Job purpose

The Graphic Artist is responsible for developing final mechanical files from creative layouts for print and digital production. Executes the changes through rounds, mock-ups for presentations and releases final art/mechanicals or digital files to vendors. The ideal candidate will be proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Photo retouching, image editing and color management skills are required to ensure accurate art and photography reproduction. The candidate will be skilled in digital media production to prepare creative files for hand off to developers; equally as skilled in pre-press print production to accurately release final mechanicals, art/photography to agency print vendors.


  • Working in full partnership with the production and creative departments to maintain integrity of design and ensure adherence to specifications
  • Revising creative files during round reviews based on client and internal edits, accurately and efficiently
  • Retouching photos, including color correction and image manipulation of all hi-res photography and art/assets for print and digital production
  • Following print specifications and digital requirements for constructing files and building mock-ups
  • Ensuring final mechanicals are accurate and error-free, including file construction, organization and prepping of files for print or digital output
  • Accurately releasing final print mechanicals and digital files to agency vendors
  • Adhering to ever-changing deadlines while consistently delivering accurate rounds and final files for release
  • Creating support materials in PowerPoint and Keynote for marketing and sales pitches
  • Remaining up-to-date on the latest developments in software applications, printing techniques and production and digital technologies
  • Maintaining archives of final mechanicals and photography files
  • Accurately and consistently reporting all time worked in the Track It tool


  • 3+ years experience as a Graphic/Production Artist
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in visual communications/graphic design, fine art, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Wide-ranging portfolio focused on direct marketing campaigns with a strong print and digital emphasis including design and production expertise
  • General understanding of integrated direct marketing principles
  • Highly skilled and efficient in the use of Adobe CS Suite - InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Strong photo retouching, color correction and image manipulation skill set
  • Unwavering attention to detail and quality focused
  • High-level understanding of graphic design, including page layout and typography - equal parts technical skill and design sensibility
  • Ability to assess latest developments in software applications, printing techniques and production
  • Highly organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple projects with total accuracy and attention to detail
  • Works well as a team player in a flexible, dynamic, deadline-driven, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills
